Learning and performing even the most simple of magic tricks illustrates the process, creativity, discipline and skill set required in the arts. For a child, the idea of practice, rehearsal, scripting, directing and performing may sound daunting, boring, out of reach.
Magicana has developed, with generous funding from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, a program to introduce this creative process to children in hospitals, community centers and schools in disadvantaged areas.
While having a great time learning secrets and performing magic tricks, children develop through Magic Hands self-confidence, self-esteem and awareness for the arts through the metaphor of magic. And they do so rapidly and without resistance thanks to our fun and interactive curriculum.
