Winner of the TEYF 2010
CAM Contest
After thorough and thoughtful deliberations, the judges in the Tony Eng Youth Fund's 2010 CAM Contest have chosen a winner.

Congratulations to:
JENNIFER ANTONIO
Jennifer, age 15, is an aspiring young magician from Winnipeg, Manitoba. Judges singled out her application from amongst nine impressive and worthy submissions.
On behalf of our program sponsors, Magicana's Tony Eng Youth Fund is delighted to award Jennifer a FREE trip to the 2010 Canadian Association of Magicians Convention in Kitchener-Waterloo. This includes convention registration, hotel accommodation and return airfare for Jennifer and her father.
As we've said, we received many applications, but here are a few of the things which made Jennifer's application stand out. Here is an excerpt from her application:
I joined the Society of Young Magicians when I was seven years old. It was a little intimidating when I joined as I was usually the only girl in a class of boys. I would practice magic all the time and before you knew it, I would be performing at different events with the S.Y.M.. My little brother followed my footsteps and when he was old enough he officially joined the S.Y.M also. I’m now fifteen and my brother is thirteen and we still perform together at fairs, festivals and parties. We still help charities raise funds by volunteering our shows.
In my short career I have had the opportunity to win some magic scholarships including the Philip Hornan Scholarship of Magic which is a scholarship awarded to young magicians in Canada who use their magic skills to do good deeds in their community. I’m most proud of the award my brother and I received for the City of Winnipeg which was the Lieutenant Governor's General Volunteer Award which was awarded to us for helping many of the charities in our city raise money by us volunteering our magic performances.
We congratulate this young lady as she will be a wonderful ambassador of magic for Magicana and the Tony Eng Youth Fund at this year's CAM.
About The Contest
Applicants - between the ages of 13-18 years - living in British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Alberta and Manitoba were invited to submit applications, through our website, telling us about their interest in magic, why they wanted to attend the convention and what they hoped to gain. Applications came in from September 15, 2009 - January 15, 2010.
We received a total of ten eligible applications from Manitoba (3), Alberta (2) and British Columbia (5).
After the contest closed, we left our judges to review each application, anonymously, and to score them. Judges identified three top finalists and each finalist’s application was put through a thorough and rigorous second round of judging.
Our winner was unanimously selected on Feb 20, 2010.
