Perform a routine, move, idea ... anything ... and get the benefit of John’s practical experience in performing, technique and creativity. In discussing your routine in this large-group learning format, the real secrets emerge in the practical examples presented.

All participants are encouraged to perform a five minute routine, or use their time to bring up whatever subject they would like to discuss: specific moves, routines, presentation ideas, works in progress, and so forth.

Personal Coaching: Bring specific routines, or techniques that you want to work on. Perform the routines for the group and get direct feedback and coaching from John.

Creativity: Learn how to add personal touches to routines you already do, and how to create new and original material. Learn how to maximize brainstorming; how to flesh out ideas; and strategize on making them work.

Approach to Study: how to get the most out of your study and practice.

Presentation: Write presentations for routines, and learn better stage craft that will make your act more professional.

Technique: Demonstrations of basic techniques and the secrets to making them more effective. We will also work with individuals who are trying to learn specific techniques.

John Carney

John Carney is no ordinary "magician". His approach is smart, engaging and always surprising. He is widely acknowledged as one of the top sleight of hand magicians in the world with smart, unique, and often hilarious presentations. He has performed in casinos in Atlantic City, Lake Tahoe and Las Vegas, and has made appearances on The Jerry Seinfeld HBO Special as well as feature appearances on Spin City and Two and a Half Men. He has served as spokesman for MasterCard, performing magic for their national television commercials. Hollywood's Magic Castle has awarded Carney more awards than anyone in their history, the only performer to win in every category.

He teaches his approach to the craft in seminars to magicians throughout the world. Carney studied under Dai Vernon, the greatest sleight of hand expert of this century.
