Before making your initial application, we urge you to first review the TIPS page. It gives you a quick overview of the application process, and it helps you collect and prepare the material you will need when applying.
If you are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, living in Canada, working as a full-time professional in magic with at least three years of experience, you are eligible for funding assistance.
We understand that many magicians are semi-professionals. We would, however, ask that applications at this time be reserved for those who rely on magic as their sole source of income.
1. FILL OUT WORKSHEET
Before filling out the application below, please DOWNLOAD this Worksheet.
To fill out the Worksheet, collect expense receipts for a thirty-day period, starting as of March 1, 2020, and group into categories. The Worksheet provides some suggested ones, such as telecommunications, utility and grocery. It is also an interactive PDF form that you should be able to fill out on your computer. If you are having problems with it, print the form and fill it out.
When you have completed the form, SAVE THE FILE and note where it is saved on your computer. You will be asked to upload the Worksheet during the application process. (Or, if you printed and filled it out by hand, scan it or take a photo of it, and have it ready to upload.)
If you have problems using the Worksheet, you should still group your expenses into categories and calculate each category’s subtotal. You can use the Expense Summary box below to fill in this information manually.
The Worksheet will also help us process your application, so by filling it out, and including it in your submission, you will also speed up the approval process.
