Conjuring Arts Research Center

Bill Kalush is one of the world’s foremost Erdnase experts, if not one of the foremost experts on all manner of antiquarian magic and gambling books, period. Erdnase seems to hold a special place in his heart, as he’s printed no fewer than six versions of the text.

In 2007 his “Bible” edition was released; a small copy designed to be carried anywhere. It has gilded edges, a ribbon bookmark and “chapter and verse” line markings to facilitate quoting important passages. These are available with standard black covers, a limited edition with maroon covers, and a small number of presentation copies with Erdnase green covers. The latter were embossed with the name of the recipient on the front cover and were presented personally by Kalush.

As beautiful as the Bible editions are, they have one serious drawback: you can’t shower with them. At least, not without damaging them. Therefore, in 2010, Kalush introduced the world’s first indestructible edition of Erdnase. Printed on a Tyvek-like, “untearable” and waterproof paper, the indestructible edition is perfect for back pockets or days at the beach. A blank version for note taking was also produced.
