Changes at Magicana

October 13, 2019

As autumn approaches and the colour of the leaves begins to turn, we have a change of our own to report: James Alan is leaving the team at Magicana.

As our program coordinator for the last four years, James played a vital role in our community outreach endeavors. He was the lead instructor and coordinator for our children’s program, My Magic Hands, and brought many bright and sunny smiles to our young participants and their families. At the other end of the age spectrum, James was also the lead coordinator and performer for our Senior Sorcery program—a program that brings live magic performances to the senior population across the Greater Toronto Area. James’s dedication and contribution to these programs was invaluable.

In addition to the outreach programs, James also worked diligently behind the scenes at Magicana in many areas. From his assistance in the publication of The Magic of Johnny Thompson, to indexing and cataloguing our bursting media content, with the bulk of his hard work seen in The Screening Room. Thanks to his devotion to these projects, were able to launch new online exhibitions, including The Magic Palace, Movie Magic, and Chan-tatachán.

James is now focusing on his performing career in Toronto and continues to present his frequently sold-out, three-year-running cabaret-style show, Magic & Martini.

We congratulate James on his growing success, and wish him all the best on his magical journey.
