My Magic Hands | magic at work

The Program

Learning + Fun = Magic

My Magic Hands uses the art of magic as a teaching vehicle to reach children in diverse communities in order to build self-confidence, self-esteem; and to teach essential life skills such as communication, critical thinking and problem solving.

Our program is also a cost-efficient way of providing the tools and the experience for children to learn about the arts.

While the focus is for the children to have fun, we also teach the importance of planning and practising to gain mastery.

For eight weeks, a professional magician teaches children the secrets of great magic tricks and how to perform them. That means learning both the secrets and the presentation skills necessary to present a truly magical effect. The goal of the session is to take the children through a journey where they transform – from participants to magicians – and demonstrate their newly-minted magical skills at The Big Show—a real magic show (recital) with a real audience generally made up of friends and family.
